Sometimes I wish I was more of a poet or lyricist to be able to write things like that. Also... love this sentiment:

Anyways, tjs_whatnot wrote a list of everything she has coming up, and since I've forgotten dates and the like, I thought such a list would be good for me as well.

So that's five, most due before mid-July. I'm seriously insane. At least I've resisted the pinch-hitter requests for the main remix. They wanted those by May 16 though, and I thought it would be a bit impossible.

No I need to go buy a Mother's Day card for my grandmother. I didn't know I was going to see her, so it's a quick jaunt to the corner to see what I can find. Oh well, a good excuse to buy some Quik as well. I didn't realise I'd run out!

First things first, <wizard_love reveals went up today.

teshara wrote my lovely, smutty Percy/Hermione fic, that was epilogue-compliant and featured Hermione as an erotic writer having trouble picturing a, erm, scene. And haven't we all been there? It's called Weekend Getaway, and everyone should go read it.

Now I can also point people towards Blue Jay Way which is Harry/Millicent that I wrote for odogoddess. I wanted to tell everyone all about it, because I was so proud of it. It's nice and long and plotty and I wanted to say "Look what I did!" but couldn't because it was anonymous. So I'll say it now... look what I did!

Being able to say that now just makes my recent writing (non-)escapades so disappointing.

I had two weeks holiday and wrote about a paragraph. I had all these grand plans and just felt no energy or enthusiasm for the entire two weeks. And not just for writing, but for everything else as well. I spent most of my time watching Buffy and doing not a lot else. I don't know whether it's the stars or biorhythms or what, but I've been feeling this way a lot lately, and I've had a headache every day for the last fortnight. Last night was a Saturday and I barely slept because I was worried about work.

This afternoon I am going to try to do some writing as I have both Daily Deviant birthday fic and hp_beholder fic to do. I was really enthusiastic about both fic ideas so I'm hoping that by just writing some of the mojo will come back.

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone else have issues with LJ's new search function. I type in names for journals I know exist - I'm friends with these people FFS - and get no search results returned. It's very strange.

First off, I got invited to Daily Deviant!!!!! I just had to share that amazingly exciting bit of news. So I guess I'll be posting to IJ as well as LJ now, since I'll have to keep my IJ active.

Anyway, back to my Resolutions, one of which was to read a book each week, and write about each one. Yes, my first book of the year was Breaking Dawn. I read the first three books of the series after Christmas, but had to wait for this one to turn up at the library.

Why did I read Twilight? The main reason was because I didn't feel I could continue to mock the series without having read it for myself. I'd read commentaries, reviews, spoofs, and rants, but I'd never read the books. I'm always the first one to say to people "Don't knock it til you've tried it", so I knew I had to read them.

Of course, you can't just talk about Breaking Dawn without talking about the rest of Twilight, so here it is...

I feel like that was way more incoherent than I wanted it to be, so my apologies to anyone who bothered to read. I have read books 2 & 3 in Book A Week, so will post about them later today. In the meantime, I need to do dishes, and since the kitchen is the coolest room in the house, I think I will. To anyone in the cold - I hope you're keeping warm. To anyone in this heat with me - I hope you're keeping cool. To everyone - I hope the weather gets back to normal soon!

And hey! I can start a Daily Deviant story this afternoon! *g*
